About Tim Putz

Tim is a 52 year resident of Santa Barbara, CA who
attended local public schools and Brooks Institute of Photography.

From 1964 to 1986 he operated one of Santa Barbara’s most successful photographic studios, specializing in commercial and portrait photography.  He sold his studio to David Roth in 1986 and focused on other related business ventures until his retirement in 1996.

Tim was a personal friend of the Battistone family (the original owners of the Sambo's Restaurant enterprise) and therefore in 1964, was commissioned to photograph the first 25 Sambo’s restaurants in this growing chain.  This assignment took him around the country from coast to coast.
